To ensure your Spark sections look as good and perform as well as possible it’s important to make sure that you a) size them correctly and b) optimize the file sizing to be as small as possible.
Each section in Spark calls for types of images and image sizes. Here are the exact dimensions for each one of them.
- Callout small: 80x80
- Callout large: 340x200
- Background Images: 1200x400-600, depending on content
- Media section image: 680x400
Here are two examples of what can happen when you use the right and wrong image sizing in sections. I’ll use media sections as an example.
At the same time, if you upload a very tall “portrait style” image Spark will not crop it but instead show the full height image, which should look something like this. We currently won’t crop them because we often times find that cropping can cause as many problems as not. Instead, the goal here is to choose the right media asset for the right section type. This same photo of Bryan Cranston would likely look great in a callout large image (340x200).
